Spell-checking is controlled by your browser. It is working for me on both Firefox and Safari. I did confirm this with a technician from our software company, who told me this:

That's a browser issue, actually. When the browser was updated, it turned off Spell Checking.

Easiest way to get it back on, is to start a reply. Intentionally misspell a word, then hover your mouse over that word, and right click.

There will be an option to re-enable spell checking. Select that, and spell check should work fine.

So, give that a shot.

Nope -- spellcheck is checked so that's not it. I also used other browsers also and same thing there.

Now that you know it is checked, have you tried quitting the browser and reopening it, and trying again?

Brett -- That's not it. Not working. BTW, no biggie if it can't be activated. It's just a useful help.

If this is Firefox... make sure "English (US)" (or whatever their language is) is ticked in the Languages menu when you right click. Even if it's the only one in the list, it still needs to be ticked.

I changed the color of the text in posts to black so it stands out much more now. I also darkened the background of the website. So, overall, there should be much more contrast. You may need to do a "hard refresh" (control + R) in order to see the change.

i actually never noticed the spellcheck before. I don't see anything right now.

What i mentioned before seems better now. Plus the colors/background seem much easier to read. Hopefully it will be the same on my work computer.

In the old version i had signatures hidden and i can't find a way to update that. I did update my own signature though.

When you mouse over a signature, an x appears to the right. Click on it.

Not sure Brett. Signatures are totally hidden so there is nothing to right click on. I'm trying to 'unhide' them.

BTW - one other i used to love was being able to click on a thread and going right to the very last post on that thread (last page/bottom).

Oh  . I thought you were asking me how to hide all signatures. To unhide them, click the Ignore tab on your My Settings page and you will see a check box to uncheck. Alternatively, just follow this link: http://www.nycmetrow...a=ignoredusers.

Do you mean the orange square you could click to go to the first unread post? If so, just click the grey icon to the left of the topic title and it will do the same thing.

Agreed. Can't find a way to read last post I read, even when I hit the last read post. It sends me to the start of the thread. Maybe we need a lesson on this new software. I'm a old dog and don't do new tricks well, lol. Not complaining just trying to navigate the new software. In dog years many of us are not three years old, at our age we would of been but to sleep long ago, lol.

You can't do it from the fast reply. Click More Reply Options.

Or, just use something like tinypic.com.
