There may be one or two tropical systems to watch if they track up the coast within the next week. Either way they will be coming more from the Gulf than the Atlantic so any big effect would be rain which would be beneficial more than anything.

I don't see any below normal temps this month. But it does look like the ridge over the south starts to get knocked down so that would be a step in the right direction if you want that. It looks like the flow starts to become more zonal as we head through the next week or so.

No rain down here in 22 days now. There is definitely some color in the mountains.

The new drought monitor shows a significant expansion of abnormally dry conditions over the northeast.

Had enough of this weather. It's October, hopefully once the remnants of Nate passes it sets us up for fall weather.

So my son has a ticket to the Yankee game Sunday night. However he is flying in from Florida and has to be back for class on Monday. I see the forecast is for rain. What are you guys thinking about Sunday? All day rain for a rain out or intermittent stuff?

Very strange foliage season. We had some trees peak their color in August and now those tees are bare. The real color is beginning to pop now but it's still not near peak yet. I drove from my house to High Point the other day and noticed more color up that way. Hoping Nate doesn't blow too many leaves off the trees just yet.

Very strange indeed. Oppressive dew points for any time of year, let alone October. I just did a short hike and it midas well have been mid summer.

Hard to say for sure, but it does look like most of Nate will miss us well to the west.

Very heavy downpours occurred in my area overnight. Woke up a couple times to hear the rain hitting the A/C. Much needed rain but the heavy downpours in a short period of time will cause some flooding.

A strong batch of much-needed rain wheeling into the Metro area now.

Yeah, it got warm once for about 15-20 minutes when the sun was coming through. But most of the day was at or below 70. Still nice, but not quite what was forecast.

I'm getting a breeze kicking up now, still cloudy, and temps have dropped a few degrees.

Models are all indicating a cooldown at the end of October with the PNA going positive and NAO going negative. Maybe some snow possible for the lakes region.
