The Mets need:
1. Pitchers.
2. Insurance at first in case Dom Smith doesn't work out.
3. A whole new training regimen.

Not surprised by this at all. I told my Met friends when he was traded in July that he would probably re-sign with them. Good move overall, got some prospects for a 3 month rental deal....

The only issue was that they got one prospect, and that prospect was a very mediocre one (30th round pick who had an ERA in the 4s in A ball). I would've hoped that they could get more out of the trade at the time, but I guess not.

Mets picked up Adrian Gonzalez, in the hopes of lighting a fire under of Dominic Smith. Mets are only paying $545,000 for Gonzalez, so no worries about him being the second coming of Mo Vaughn.

Looks like they are officially throwing in the towel on David Wright.

They were able to get Bruce & Frazier on short-term bargain deals. Hopefully this leaves money to sign a reliable starter.

Is Vargas actually out 4-6? I thought I saw this report earlier, but read something today about him throwing and perhaps being back on the mound much sooner.

I was there one night a couple of years ago when it was 40s and drizzle/mist. Absolutely miserable. To make matters worse...it was Memorial Day weekend!

that was the last I heard. But he had fractured his non throwing hand so chances of him coming back sooner seem better than if it was his throwing hand.

I went in early May one time. Game was delayed until 930pm. It was 42 and drizzle all night. Talk about miserable. They gave everyone who stayed free tickets to another game tho 😁
