Had a brief snow squall move through this part of the area. Brief heavy wind and snow made visibility come down a bit. No accumulation but was nice to see flakes in the air.

26° for low here this morning. Just got back from west of Roscoe, NY. Only dropped to 28 there this morning. Had snow showers a good part of the day yesterday, leaving several coatings of snow. There was still some on the ground when I left this morning. Hopefully they get a few inches snow cover up there this week before opening day Saturday.

Obviously no need to put much stock on one run but the Euro showed a heavy interior snowstorm for next week lol

Timing on this one is Thursday night into Friday. Looks like a slop fest to rain for places to the north and west of I 80 and I 287. Looks like mostly rain near the coast. Could be some frozen precip in other places at the start. Much less model agreement on this one as compared to the Tuesday event so this can change.

Looks like a bit more colder air to work with for the late week system compared to Tuesday which puts areas N&W of I-287 in play.
As you said, this is several days away so there is time to sort this one out.
Tuesday looks like a large swath of rain for most, maybe initially starting as frozen precip initially in the highest elevations of the Poconos and Catskills. We shall see. Looks like at least an active pattern to continue. If we can get this into Dec, I think we could start off the meteorological winter on a snowy note.

There has been a lot LR forecasts calling for a warm up for the end of the month however it keeps getting pushed back. Case in point is the potential event for the end of the week which just popped up in the models over the past couple of days. My thoughts are that model runs and forecasts for more than 168 hours out go into the fantasy chapter. WRT Tuesday there has been good agreement that this will be liquid for all of us.

WRT Friday the 18z German model came east big time and delivers 4 - 8 across the area. It just goes to prove that this event is very much in play regarding precip type.

18z FV3 GFS is also a big hit across the area. Yellow flag on this one in is that its trending north. Earlier runs on this model kept it south of us.
