Light rain starting to fall down here in Paterson. Guess I was wrong thinking it would stay all snow here. Oh well. Be back in Vernon soon. Should look like winter there at least.

Amazing temperature contrast in just 10 miles. I was in Wappinger Falls which is due west of my home and the roads and trees were snow covered with a temp of 27, drove 15 minutes east to my house and temp rose to 33 at one point and there is little more than a dusting and I am 700 feet higher in elevation.

Looks like precip shield filled in and moderate snow underway.

So many times in the near past, the coast has done so well with the storms. This year we are taking it on the chin. Today a perfect example, it is snowing and sometimes fairly hard, all the way down to D.C. but you have to be just inland to see it.

wb, I think what little changeover to snow we get on the coast will come when the cold front, now out near State College, PA pushes through later this evening. It's very still from the coast to central PA.

Toggling between temperature, wind speed, and dewpoint shows where the cold front is. FD

Oak Ridge Rd is one of the transition points I've seen in my years living here. I've identified basically 4 on my commute home.
1st is on 23, the hill coming up to rt 287 in Riverdale.
2nd is the S turns on 23 in Kinnelon/W. Milford.
3rd is Oak Ridge rd.
4th is when you go under the Canistear rd Tressel. Then all bets are off.
