Winter ends tomorrow. 🙁
For a week, there's a storm signal from the 10th thru 12th which would be snow since the cold air will be back

I'll be interested to see if the noisy temperature data from Walpack continues as the pattern changes this week.
It would be pretty amazing if their cold air pooling theory is correct. For now I'm not buying it, including the -22°F low it's reporting from early this morning.

RG - What is the topography like at that location? Hilltop, field, trees, hollow, next to a stream, near a building, etc? Trying to get an idea if there are any other factors that could be involved.
Bethlehem, PA is 80 miles west of NYC

Low and flat, open field location with no trees. Elevation is maybe 400 feet give or take. A couple miles to the east is the Kittatinny Ridge and to the west is some hilly terrain. No water in the immediate area that I recall. Woods around, but not real close to the station.

The area is ideal for radiational cooling but not the temp spikes itís been showing . Thatís not normal

Nothing looks good on the guidance moving forward for snow lovers. Can it change? Sure but the PNA has been negative and it doesnt look like it wants to be positive anytime soon,

Awful winter for Philly, NYC and Boston.

NYC has just over 7 inches and Boston has just under 3 inches.

I agree. Was looking at that graph this morning . Those huge quick spikes make no sense, especially when there was no wind this morning or last night. One note though. Yesterday mornings temps, Sandyston which is not far from Walpak also had a low of -22 I believe.

No they were -15, also there seems to be a few stations that have weird spiked graphs . Wonder how old those stations are . Another one I question is parsippany

there is a signal for a storm around the 10th 11th and 12th there also is a signal for round President's day. At this point I guess that's all you can ask for is a signal

Long range forecasts, almanacs, rodents that live in the ground all have a similar amount of accuracy.
