06z NAM - Total after 48 Hours. Amounts on LI are not valid due to sleet and freezing rain transition.

06z NAM - Total after 84 hours. I am showing this output for purposes of comparison. You cannot use this output for LI and SE NE because the event is progged to go to sleet and rain there as the outputs there are contaminated.

06 NAM - Total after 84 hours incorporating the Kuchera ratio on Pivotol. The outputs on some of these runs look screwy so I am posting the one that seems to make the most sense.

LI and SE NE go to sleet and rain on the 06z NAM for Saturday and Sunday night. For that reason you cannot go with the output from Levi's site (TT). You have to go with the Pivotal outputs. The major takeaway from all of this is that the Sunday night piece is tracking quite a bit further to the south and east because of the stronger system on Saturday. The Euro has also moved its track to the south and east to reflect this.

On the 06z GFS everyone south of I80 in NJ and the GWB in NYC and I-95 in CT is rain on Saturday. That means virtually all of NYC and LI are rain on Saturday. The RGEM shows pretty much the same thing for Saturday.

This is only the beginning. We are going to have an west to east rain/snow line across the area on Saturday and we also are expecting a southwest to northeast rain/snow line across the area on Sunday night.

06z GFS at 48 hours for the Saturday event only - this is quite a cutoff. I would hate to be a weenie on LI with this one.
