I was on the south shore of Long Island last night, Baldwin Harbor. I could see the storm clouds and lightning from those storms, even though they were at least some 40-50 miles to my north. They started drifting south and crossed the sound about midnight but completely died out by the time it hit me. I received about .01 inch of rain from them.

Thought today was supposed to be cooler and drier? Felt very warm and humid again, with pop up storms

Looks like a stretch of relatively dry weather with temps low-to mid 80s upcoming for the next week to 10 days. That gets us to the latter part of August. Have we seen the last of any real serious heat?

I think there will be one more prolonged heat/humidity cycle before the end of the month.

Another flash flood watch issued for my county tomorrow. Is it me or does every t storm threat have a FFW issued with it this year.

It's been a decent summer down here. Mainly low 90s but occasionally mid 90s. We've had a good t-storm once or twice a week so the lawn has stayed pretty green and it's cooled the pool water enough where it's not too warm all the time. Humidity has gotten bad though especially lately.

Media hype machine was in high gear yesterday for strong storms, flooding today. Looks like nothing for me except clouds. Time to water the flowers.

I've been arguing that this has been one of the best summers. Limited humidity, ample sunshine, limited rainfall. Hopefully this can continue through September.

I agree it really has been a great summer. upper 70s and low 80s mostly with a few humid days but nothing lasting long. The nights have been very comfortable.
