Blown forecast for heavy rain and strong storms in north Jersey today.

True for today. Though Amy Freeze blew it, it came hard and strong all night.

A beautiful line has formed -- textbook. And my wife and I get to witness it from beautiful and scenic terminal C at Newark Airport, while we wait to fly to Vegas, and that's if the flight doesn't end up cancelled.

No, definitely not. The forecast I recall was a chance of isolated storms. You can usually count on something like this when one of us has to fly.

Well, not everyone got in on the action. I didn't have a single drop IMBY.

Was at a Long Island Ducks minor league baseball game tonight in Central Islip. At the end of the game a severe thunderstorm with straight line winds or possibly a tornado came through. When leaving the game, the road on the way out had about a half dozen trees down across the road. The southern state parkway had numerous trees down. I haven't heard much on the news about it, yet, but I did here there was a potential tornado in the area.

Big stuff went down across the island tonight- particularly on the south shore. I am convinced that NWS surveys will find pockets of hurricane force wind damage. Many people without power and off the grid.
