Dorian is actually strengthening while heading towards Nova Scotia. It's now a Category 2 with winds of 100 mph--the strength that Juan had when it made landfall. It may be extratropical or posttropical when it makes landfall, but the strength may be in the realm of Category 2.

I have a friend in Spryfield, Nova Scotia, which is just south of Halifax. The report from her as of two hours ago is that there's a lot of stuff on the road and the storm hasn't hit yet. It looks to be a massive hit for Nova Scotia and many other parts of Atlantic Canada.
Carlisle, PA is about 20 miles west-southwest of Harrisburg

This friend I think was in Dorian's eye. She said that the wind has completely stopped. Looks like the nastiest winds are in the southern part of Dorian, so she's about to get walloped if she hasn't gotten walloped already.

Pretty wide spread of temperatures in NJ this afternoon. I changed into shorts and a tee after work, then went outside and was cold. Yet it's topped 90 in the southern part of the state.
