See ya. Much as I enjoy sports, the last few months have proven that I can live without them. These leagues better realize that we have a ton of entertainment options in 2020.

Baseball is the real loser here. At least the other sports are doing what they can to get back. MLB could have been center stage. While the players share some blame (the union of course) the owners are in fantasy land. They seem clueless to what's going on in the world and how this is going to affect the popularity of the game.

Wow

Someone has to get the Coupons (Wilpons) away from the Mets. I really donít think theyíll be good consistently until they sell. Itís like James Dolan with the Knicks. Total dumpster fire. Ownership makes a huge difference. It starts at the top.

certainly great news for Mets fans. Would be great if the Mets/Yanks have a rivalry like the Red Sox/Yanks.

The Wilpons are done. They financially can no longer support the team. They have to sell - and supposedly by the end of the year. Hopefully now, they've realized that they can no longer try to force the new owner to keep petulant, clueless Jeff in charge of the team after the sale. He's the true problem, not his father.

I was at Yankee Stadium for Seaver's 300th win. There were a ton of Met fans there. Fun Fact, it was also Phil Rizzuto Day.

Its weird to think that Seaver was Mr. Met and the franchise's greatest player and they traded him once to the Reds and did not protect him on the 40 man roster another time when the White Sox claimed him.

I was at Shea opening day in 1983 when he came back. At the start of the game, when he emerged from the dugout, everyone started to worry that the stadium may crumble it was literally rocking that much.

That trade is widely recognized as one of the worst in MLB history. Then, after the 83 season, they foolishly assumed no one was going to claim him as he was approaching 40 years old. A terrible blunder, by a different regime.I believe he won 16 games each of the next 2 years for the Chisox. And many forget he was on the Red Sox in 86.

I had forgotten that also. I donít think he was on the postseason roster. He certainly didnít make any appearances in the World Series. What a story that would have been...Seaver going against his old team in the Fall Classic.
