Tons of people out there who have lost there jobs thanks to this Covid virus, and now of all things Mr.Trump is looking to push for higher oil prices.

Because oil and gas is a large employer in the US. Oil under $40-$50 a barrel is not cost efficient for US producers, so they shut down and layoff people. Once this floor is reached, US oil production turns back on and jobs increase.

Good and bad at the same time, depends on your perspective. I worked for a company that was big in O&G. It was great to fill up with cheap gas, but at the same time I worried every day if I was going to lose my job.
