We've had about 2.5" so far this month. So more in line with normal but much drier than it's been. Mainly just random pop-up showers/small t-storms. I finally joined the cocorahs network about 6 weeks ago and got the official rain gauge, etc.

Search by station # SC-YR-73 (you have to do a 2nd search under multiple day reports to get the full list).

We had a little light rain this morning. Then it poured for about 3 minutes with huge raindrops and a little thunder at 4 pm. Don't think we'll get a good soaking rain. It will probably be very local if it occurs.

My lawn is basically the only green lawn on the block. I got Bermuda grass for some reason. Goes dormant early in fall and stays dormant until 70s run rampant. Although does great in hot and dry

The saharan dust layer reached the peninsula over the weekend. Its a really strange phenomena where it looks hazy brown everywhere. If you look to the sun, there is a brown ring clearly visible.

No, not yet. That's what I have been waiting for. Sunsets are fantastic here regardless, I've been hoping for fire in the sky type sunsets, but not yet.

I was at Jones Beach a few days ago and we had one of those fire in the sky sunsets, really nice.
