Looks like Zeta might've caught some forecasters off guard. Last I had looked, this was only supposed to be a strong tropical storm at landfall.

It was thought that Zeta would probably hit as a Cat 1 but as today progressed it made it to Cat 2. It is moving quick so there will not be lingering affects in the hard hit areas.

Dont want early snow. Precursor for lousy winter.
Need rain. Our wells are being supplemented by tanker trucks up here. Its been dry all summer and fall

That's mainly with early snow storms. Little events like this , coating or so never was a kiss of death like big storms in Oct.

Yeah it's racing to the NE so quickly. Heaviest of rain out over VA now.
This is a very impressive storm in terms of area of coverage of heavy rains.

yeh huge storm. And another storm will form on the cold front although that's trending east. Crazy weather. Snow and fire out west. Well below zero in spots. Even Texas and NM hit with snows.

Horrific ice storms in TX & OK also. Maybe a sign of the winter coming?
