I posted a couple times last night on American. This event was simply unbelievable. We actually got pretty spared up here in Sparta (only 4-5") versus some double digit amounts to the southeast.

Sorry about your car vascudave. Hopefully the insurance process goes smoothly, although I'm sure you have plenty of company in making those claims.

Mother and son were killed in their basement in Queens after the flooding†broke the wall outside and water drowned them inside.

Saw a segment on TWC where two storms were simultaneously tornado warned and flash flood warned. They were telling people to get to their basements ASAP, and then had to backtrack on that because of news of flooding basements. They then awkwardly told people to "get to the lowest floor, inside wall, as long as it's not flooding".

That's a new one.

Read at least 2 dead in Hillsboro - swept away in cars. It is bad here and Manville

Sorry to hear. Glad youíre OK though. What an insane storm.

I work at an insurance agency. We had dozens of claims calls yesterday. Iím actually surprised that we didnít have even more than we did.

When those flash floods start, you have no chance to react and nowhere to go. Iím so grateful that I got home before the weather went downhill.

We lucked out up,here. Irene was much worst for us and Sandy with Winds. This is prob our 3 rd worst I've seen here.
