I remember last year we wrote off winter right after Christmas. The situation seems more dire this year

Looks worse this year. Even with the pattern change coming it's nothing too dramatic. We just got back from Myrtle beach where it's been in the 70s. We were on the beach and people were in the water believe it or not.

It is boring. Looks like in about a weeks time things could become better. Possible storm and then some very cold air to follow.

Looks like the coldest day of the season for me on Monday. 26° for a high and 16° for a low. Friday maybe snow. Bring it on.

19 degrees right now in Brooklyn

Coldest temperature so far this winter. An arctic blast on the models next week. Combine that with possible snowcover. Maybe single digits?
