Gefs is further east

I think 1-3 inches is a fair call right now for NYC

actually the NAM is a little juicier and shows some potential for a phase so that's some hope. I haven't checked the 12z yet but it's running now.

Not looking good - maybe the models will move the storm back west. Meanwhile my wifes school ended up closing today due to the ice.

Ice this morning was brutal. Couple showers at 9am turned roads here into a skating rink. It's real sketchy dropping salt in these trucks when they start to slide. Have to reverse down and up hills while spreading salt and pray u get traction

You guys don't get enough recognition for what you do in these storms. Super long shifts, snow blind eyes, crazy conditions in HUGE vehicles. Stay safe ..... and thank you!

6z gfs looks like it digs just a little further south. Not a huge difference but maybe a good little trend thought the nam looks a little more east.

Thank you....I've done 30+ hours straight multiple times. It's why I hate big storms now. Too dangerous. But for the complainers about roads being "bad" in freezing rain or 2 inch an hour rates, I'll gladly give them the keys to the truck, or even let them sit passenger to get a first person view of what we have to deal with

Indications from the models this morning show that the best chance for banding to set up would be from central/southern NJ across LI and on into CT and eastern NE. I can see the potential for 3-6” to fall in those areas if this verifies. I would go with 2-5” across northern NJ and SE NY including the city with a somewhat lesser chance of banding to set up in those areas. The places where this banding could set up could be anywhere so this is not set in stone by any means.
Bethlehem, PA is 80 miles west of NYC

Upton might have to issue more warnings

This will be higher than 10:1 ratios
