Its going to feel lovely considering how cold it was this past weekend. Excluding Monday, temps this upcoming week are going to fall in the 65-70 degrees range.

its quite amazing , if you think about it, for temps to only be in the 30s and 40s for mid october, some of us cant realize its only october and think every week now will be in the 30s and 40s and actually 50s to 60s is normal, its truly amazingl

Bring on the 65-70! My world would be perfect if it was warm with foliage remaining until the end of November, then very cold and snowy until the end of February, followed by quick warmth and growth again in March. Oh well, can't have everything.

I have been keeping daily records since 1973 and this is the first time in October that we had four straight days that the max temps never reached 50 degrees.

So happy about the more realistic temps for this week, I hope that we have milder weather until at least Halloween, then it can blizzard for all I care!

I will be glad to see 60 degrees again, along with the sun.

Ugh i hate those things. Luckily we only see one here and there. Some people in my area get inundated.
I'm also looking forward to some warmer weather. I'm glad we got some snow but let's not go overboard for now.

you are lucky....supposedly they are becoming more of a problem in the area now. pest control at our office said they are playing catch up now and aren't sure what to do yet. he said they do bite too, never happend to me, but they are creepy and annoying. 2 weekends ago i must have smashed about 40 or so of them around my house.(outside...1 or 2 inside)
anyone have ideas/or knowledge for control??

Yeah we've been talking about them on my H-town board for at least 2 years now. You shouldn't smash them though. It will smell like a skunk for days. I catch them in a cup and flush them down the toilet. Here's a little info on some remedy's but i don't think there is anything overly effective.

I think a warm two weeks is quite possible. I know Elliot Abrams said it would stay cold for as far out as he could see but clearly 60's and even low 70's are looking more and more probable this week and weekend with a lot of indications of warmth next week too. If we cool off during the next two weelks it'll probably be quite brief. Won't be surprised by another well above normal Halloween.

I certainly welcome more seasonable to slighty above-avergae temps. I'm not too happy about this pattern of lousy weekends though. Looks like another wet one coming up (and the one after that too {Halloween}, as per the GFS).

I wish the same too. The cold air lasts way too long in the northeast. We don't get enough 60s and 70s.

My forecast has mid 70's Thursday, than only a day or so out of the 50s through the extended long range. What is the average high for this time of year?
