I predicted back in Sepetember that NYC will see its first flakes on November 6th. . Seriously though, I think this outcome will change. Not one model agrees with this outcome.

I must be drunk. I see nothing there but a weak system way offshore. The incoming cold is also not even cold enough if there was a storm around. It's November 5th on that map so folks get realistic. Also the Euro wants to bring in a nationwide warm-up by next weekend.

People on the other board said that it's cold throughout the whole run.

Both GFS & Euro look to go quite warm by the end of the upcoming weekend.

There never was a storm and it's why you don't waste time with the models beyond 4-5 days with storms anyway. Were you really expecting a snowstorm in the first week of November?

Seriously - I don't even remotely think about sticking snow until post November 25th for us (NYC and coast). Mountains a different story, although still more likely to get snow in April.

I know you guys are much more knowledgeable then I am by far, but now it looks as if "something" is going to come through the area Wed-Thur night. Although not much, it's suppose to be 32 with a chance of showers for Wed night, and flurries/showers on Thursday night. During the day it's a chance of showers with a high of 42 and 43 respectively. I know it's nothing much at all, but compared to sunny and in the mid to upper 50's as predicted just yesterday, something has changed.

So even though it's not a full blown nor' easter, something is coming through to give us the chance of precip and up north and west, it could be mixed with snow or all wet snow from the sounds of it.

Storm, you mention about snow sticking in early November, out here in the NW NJ and further up north yes, but it will be gone in a day or two at the most. What I want to say though, is this is the 2nd year we had accumulating snow in October ! Last year late October, this year, mid October. This is very unusual I'm sure, but still there is always that chance to see some flakes early in the season and for most of us, that's good enough. As always, I appreciate your insight and knowledge you bring to this board.

Thanks again,
Mark

It's something for NE...not nearly as much of an event for us. And now it looks to be even more offshore than originally thought.
