Low here this morning was 28.2
Here is something to think about. normal high & low here for 11/18 are 48 / 26 and 2 weeks later 12/2 the norm on that date is 42 / 23 Then by 12/15 average temps here are 38 / 19 ( numbers per weather underground)
So even if we can get a pattern change back to norm or just below, it will start to feel like winter ( or close to it)
Things are looking better, but not great. Looks like we will get back to near norm, but will it stay? I think thats the million dollar question.

The 12z Euro and 12z GFS are pointing to coastals storm for this weekend and the start of next week. The Euro is stronger than the GFS for Monday. Both of them are warm though, so all rain.

Don't take the models seriously this far out.
i THINK the period to watch will be between december 6th to 10th for cold and storminess ( snow ), before then it will be a gradual step down in temps, but even the 6th to 10th period is transient, may have to wait until later in december to get a pattern to hold the cold in to be persistant.
remember the december 2003 snowstorm, we all got about 15 to 20 inches of snow on the ground in two storms with very cold temps, only for it to be wiped away by rain and mild temps by the middle of december and had to wait until january for cold again

My low this morning was 38 and the average low this time of year here is 36. I have been below 32 only once and that was 29. So after a chilly October, it now seems like winter will never get here. Things change quickly.

Basically what is normal now is warm 2 weeks from now and very warm 4 weeks from now. November now looks to play out at a +3-+5 range with no chance of snow in NW burbs.

I'll take the warmth until about mid-december. I'm a fan of cold, but short winters. It has been dry here, we had to crank up the humidifier. Amazingly, I am still hearing some night insects - although they have faded considerably the past few days so I imagine they are just about done. I'm not sure what they are (were) or what still chatters in the night during the fall. Anybody know?

Extremely dreary day here. Raining on and off, cool, and just a nasty fall day.

Cool? Cool is a relative thing. Temps here were well into the 50's all day and it's 60 outside and feels like summer here right now. With a high of 60 and a low of 49 todays average temperature is higher than the normal high temp.

Agreed. Was just outside a minute ago and it feels the warmest it's been all day. Light jacket is all. Considering we're 10 days from December, this week's been quite balmy.

50s is "cool". Maybe not average for this time of year, but 50s is a "cool" temperature range, IMO. I was out at DP all day, and pants/jacket were necessary. Sorry it's not "technically" cool I guess.

Also had a pretty good thunderstorm last night. I thought the house got hit, the thunder shook the house immediately after the lightning hit and the flash was so bright. I think it was around 1 or 2am when it hit. It was raining quite hard for about 2+ hours prior to that and me falling asleep. Temp was the highest at 1:59am and hit 60.5, I'm assuming when the t-storm hit. Low was 48.7 at 6:05am this morning. Wierd weather for this time of year.
I'm hoping that this pattern changes soon as I like when it's at least cold and dreary with possible the mix or change over to snow...don't see that happening ofr a while.

Well you are talking in absolute terms. If that's the case 50's is cool in January too even though it's +20-25 degrees. In weather I use the terms as relative to normal not in absolute terms and late last night temps jumped to the 60's (63 here) which was warmer than many May and June nights and even some heart of summer nights.
Was awoken by a blinding lightning bolt and a huge thunderclap around 3:30. Never saw or heard a second one but the rain that fell over the next half hour was torrential. Power out here fpr 2+ hours and I have no idea why. No winds, only that lightning bolt and no real condition that should have knocked out power. It was also pretty widespread.

Had a big thunderstorm around 4am. Lightning had to strike real close. Sounded like an explosion and woke us all up - and set off numerous car alarms (people still have those?).
