5-0 Start fell to 8-7 after a 41-9 loss at home to Carolina. -________- Not the best team in the NFC anymore eh?

Looking at the NFL, the teams emerging from the pack as the hottest and in my opinion in the best position to make it to the Super Bowl are right now the San Diego Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Everyone else has either faltered over the past few games, showed glaring areas of weaknesses, or are resting their starters (which I am in stark opposition to, as it kills momentum and takes the starters' focus away from the game). I also do not like the bye week for this reason. Let them get into a groove and get going.

However I will say it is hard to argue against Peyton Manning or Drew Brees.

The Eagles and the Chargers are my favorites for the SB right now. I think the Saints are very vulnerable (even before these two losses) and the Vikings aren't looking like the top NFC team. Which leaves the streaking Eagles as the hottest team in the NFC right now. Also, the Colts have had a history of problems against the Chargers in playoff games. The Chargers look unbeatable and if they make it to the Super Bowl hopefully they will face my Eagles. However, I can't write off Tom Brady and the Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals look ready for a playoff run and this time around they are healthy, but we'll see.

Who would have thought it would be the Jets that have a chance at the playoffs; especially after last week's downer?

Yeah not saying it was because the Colts took out their starters because they were down when they did but it really helped their cause. Now the Jets have to win at home against Cincinnati next week, who I think will play their starters to get that No. 3 seed. So it will be a hard fought battle and a must-watch game.

oh come on they played a team that took out the majority of their starters and the colts played a 3rd string qb that took his first nfl snaps. Colts were up and with the ball when they took everyone out. Jets Offense was doing nothing against the colts until the colts took everyone out. No way Jets would have won this game. And the Jets will get another gift this week. Cinci will have nothing to play for and will be resting their players to. The bookies now this to, why do you think the jets are 8 points favorites?

saints....good for n.o.
I agree and I have been a big fan of Drew Brees for awhile. Finally has a team this season with a decent defense and a good running game to support him.

The defense fell apart and the players quit on the season. It will be interesting to see what is done with Sheridan and, if let go, what comes out about the defense this season. This may have started in pre season when Osi left practice after a disagreement with the coaches. I suspect that Sheridan slowly lost these guys from that point on.

And its not Eli Manning either, this is statistically his best season of his career. Offensive playcalling and TERRIBLE defense was the downfall.
