After last season if one doctor independent of the Mets suggested surgery and the Mets and their doctor said no, what would you do?

There is just a black cloud over this team that never goes away.
You're only young once, but you have your whole life to be immature!

Time to rename the team:
The New York Medicals.
And Metfan becomes a medicalfan for life. You're going to have to understand medicine to understand the Mets. This has become a farce and this is almost definitely Beltran's last year here. Issue is how much does he sit now. The Mets have really screwed this thing up royally from a PR standpoint. And if you are a star player free agent going forward you have to wonder about wanting to play for them.

Better not be. He'll probably be out until mid-June, and then he'll be rusty. But he and Boras probably did this now to ensure he's better for 2011 - his walk year. So Beltran will likely have a bad year this year, but a huge year in 2011. So, the Mets should at least try to get the benefit of that. But they probably will move him next offseason and watch him have the big year in another uniform.

The medical team on the Mets is horrible.

Mets acquired Gary Matthews Jr from Angels for Brian Stokes. Angels will also pay $21 million of the $23 million that Matthews is owed the next two years. Low risk move for the Mets.

It's nothing to get excited about as Matthews is useless when not on PEDs, but it's not costing them anything either.
