After a cold start, then a mild middle of the month and a cold ending, January was about a 1/2 degree above normal in Central Park. Basically a fairly normal month as far as temps go, although it was a roller coaster ride.

Numbers for me were 1.35 above normal,according to Poughkeepsie readings.

from the small sample size it Seems to me areas that have great rac cooling(rural valley areas) seem to be near avg while areas with no rac cooling(citys and high elevated areas) were above. even with above normal highs Most night I dropped into the teens. Can anybody pull up info on a station like walpack nj?
