We are in for some dynamic weather through this evening as a clipper dives southeast across the area and deepens offshore causing mainly convective rain showers that can be accompanied by thunder and can mix with or end as wet snow. The precipitation will shift east of the city after 10 pm but it will linger longer over Connecticut and eastern Long Island as storm center deepens offshore and associated coastal trough stalls over those areas. There can be a slushy coating to an inch north and east of the city from northern NJ across southern Westchester and eastern Nassau county and a stripe of 1-3 inches farther north and east across southeast NY, CT, into
southern RI and eastern Long Island. There can be a 3-5 inch max over western and soutwest CT.

Wind will shift to the northwest from west to east across the city this evening and pick up speed later on as storm continues to strengthen offshore and pulls down stronger winds from aloft. Clouds may break up later tonight, especially from the city on south then tomorrow will be windy and cold with times of clouds and sun. The wind will make it feel like its in the teens. Upper level troughs embedded in a northwest flow aloft will cross the area tomorrow night and Saturday causing gusty winds to continue and it will be cold with a clear to partly cloudy sky during that time. Wind chills will drop into the single digits tomorrow night and
warm into the teens on Saturday.

High pressure moves across the area Saturday night with clear and chilly conditions, but with less wind. Next storm center will track ENE to near Chicago on Sunday while a secondary low develops near the Del-Marva later in the day. This will spread clouds across the area in the morning while precipitation moves across PA, perhaps reaching the city in the afternoon. It will be cold enough for a bit of snow or ice at the onset then mostly likely changing to plain rain for the city as boundary temps warm. Farther west and north, icingcould last longer. Secondary low moves out to sea Sunday night with rain or wintry mix comingto an end across the area. There is uncertainty with this set up Sunday and Sunday night with
timing and secondary development so we will have to wait and see.

Occluded front from low pressure over Great Lakes to storm center offshore will set up nearby on Monday and could cause some flurries, esp N of city. Upper trough with Lakes low will pass by to the north on Tuesday with clouds and sun and a westerly flow in the city perhaps some flurries north.
