Me too Terry. I like a good snowstorm as much as anyone but prefer summer and warmth.

The wind makes it feel much colder than what it is.

It's currently 16 degrees here in VT. I am so sick of winter already.

Define "warm." If you mean above average temps, I don't see any break in the cold regime the rest of december.

Warm: temps higher than current state of temperatures. In order words, any 40s, or 50s coming soon. Even with out rain?

Except when it will precipitate this weekend and possibly the next precip event.

If you see warmth it'll be brief. Warm rains surrounded by long stretches of cold have happened before and seem to be happening now. The ultimate frustration for a snow lover because it squashes your chance of snow well in advance while you are in deep cold.

Even though it's freezing now this year has been good for warm lovers in the northeast. Way above average spring and summer. It hasn't been this cold since February so that is quite some time.

Who in their right mind would take a cruise ship to an ice cold place? Even if it is late Spring down there.

Virga -- Do not read the rest of this post until after your cruise. Satellite image technology now reveals a dirty little secret -- huge rogue waves in the middle of the oceans do occur, not infrequently, and for reasons not understood. What was only a decade ago thought impossible or a one in a thousand year event, is now believed to occur with some regularity. Modern ships are not built to withstand such waves and wave heights and if a ship is in the wrong place at the wrong time, it doesn't have much chance, regardless of its size. There are several freight ships and tankers which are now believed to have been lost due to such waves. Just a matter of time before a cruise ship is lost, unless ship technology is totally re-engineered; a measure not taken thus far due to costs.
