Did anyone catch this special last night? I thought it was fascinating to see how sports were shown on television back in the medium's infancy. Not many graphics, no replays, only a few camera angles and very little color commentary. It's amazing that the film was found in Bing Crosby's wine cellar. He was a part-owner of the Pirates in 1960 but was too nervous to actually watch Game 7. He flew to Paris and listened to the game on short-wave radio and asked a friend to Kinescope the game for him. No one knew of the film's existence until a few months ago.

I'm sure it'll be on again. MLB Network re-airs programming a lot, especially in the off-season.

I don't get MLB. I have to watch it at my brother-in-law's house.

Gotcha.

I know how you feel. Cablevision doesn't carry NFL Network, so I miss out on a lot of good programming, not to mention the Thursday night late-season games, unless they involve the Jets or Giants.

For what it's worth, MLB has also released a DVD version of the game, available for purchase on Amazon.
