Figured i would start a new thread since the other is about 50 pages in and change the date of the threat.lets all hope the 00z runs clobber us tonight!

08-09 total snowfall-43.3"

1st flakes of 11-12 winter-October 29th(coating)
1st flakes of 10-11 winter-November 8th(no accum)

Weather models are like cars. The Americans are bigger and have more bells and whistles but overall, the foreign models perform better and are more reliable over the long haul.

Bernie Rayno doesn't seem too optimistic--says a major snowstorm is a possibility, but that all the pieces need to come together perfectly, and he doesn't see that happening. Don't all major storms require "all the pieces coming together"? Why is this one any different? Link to video below:

Why doesn't someone create the "hahasuckers" model of forecasting. Plain to day, no model should be spoken about here as reliable. I would rather here the gut instincts of Robbbs, Jim, Ice, and storm right now over following those crap models. How about it guys, whats your gut on what happens?

Yankee -- Appreciate you asking but there's little detail I can provide with a four day window. I think the chances are excellent that everyone sees some snow, but whether light, moderate, or heavy is dependant on too many variables. Trends have been good but not there yet, except for the Euro.
