It seems once again the NWS has blown this forecast big time. Although they still have a "heavy snow warning" in effect, it seems doubtful if the criteria for such a warning will actually occur.
Here is the actual criteria for such a warning:
"Issued when snowfall totaling 6 inches or more in 12 hours or less is expected. Also issued when snowfall totaling 8 inches or more in 24 hours or less is expected." What gives with these so called prof. mets? First they upgrade the storm, and I expect in the next few hours, they will downgrade this and remove that warning.

Just a little heads up, the HSW is not in effect until 10pm.

...HEAVY SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM EST MONDAY... ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NO LONGER IN EFFECT...
I guess we are BOTH correct. The HSW I posted was for northeast Jersey.
