Hey Guys,
Been busy with last minute semester stuff so have been hit or miss on the board lately...anyway...Nittany and I are graduating this Sunday at 11am...NOAA has been back and forth with the idea of a showery weekend up here..do you guys think we could squeeze out a decent weekend w/ no rainfall up here? Graduation is on the lawn (albeit under a tent) but a rainy weekend means mud........

Saturday definitely looks better than Sunday; mix of sun and clouds, but favoring clouds the whole weekend. Temps will be comfortable in the 60-65 degree range. Sunday certainly won't be a wash-out / stratiform rain type event. We've got a series of low pressure centers with differential advection along the warm front from the lakes into SE Canada. Some of that scattered convection may clip NNE Sunday afternoon. Difficult to say at this point whether Sunday will be 100% dry or not. I think for the most part you'll be south of the heavier convection, and may only have to deal with a passing shower or two later Sunday afternoon. Nothing to be concerned about at this junction.
Early-mid next week however looks potentially troublesome with large HP to our north and strong onshore flow w/ excessive moisture Mon-Thurs. Both the GFS and Euro are printing out pretty impressive rain total for that period, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. AKA - enjoy the stretch of glorious weather this week.

I'm only worried about the 11am-1pm time frame as we will be outdoors.
As for my plans after graduation, I've applied to several Reporter/Anchor positions around the country. Still waiting on hearing back from them. We will see, I will keep you guys updated.
Thanks Storm for the update! I hope the rain bands stay well to our North.

Yeah you should be fine during that time, maybe a shower Saturday and Sunday afternoon but not a big deal. Congrats!
Although you may want to go back to college pretty soon; I know I don't want it to end - it's going way too fast.

Yeah it's not looking good. The latest models have the boundary shifting southward. 1-2"+ rains coming Saturday-Monday. Still hope for it to settle further north.

Originally the boundary was going to set up shop in Quebec, keeping us dry. Ahh this would be terrible if it poured through out the ceremony. This sucks!!! We get horrible weather YEAR ROUND up here in this crapshoot state, all I ask for is a dry commencement weekend, and we can't even get that. FML!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when i graduated High Point NC in 97. They had their commencement outside every single year and never once had a problem from what i was told. It poured that day LOL. The 2 winters i was down there they had quite a bit of snow too, one of those years was the blizz of 96 even though i was home for that one (thankfullly). Good luck guys. John something tells me wherever you wind up you will have a lot of sunny days in your future. How about San Diego

Had rain Saturday Afternoon-Monday Morning, with barely if any breaks. However, the saving grace was that it wasn't HEAVY rain, so the ground has been able to handle it (so far). Graduation was still a great ceremony as they had a very large tent set up that kept everyone dry.

Putting the crap weather aside, it was the greatest day of my life. Haha and also the saddest. When you go to a college in a small Northern VT town, your friends become your family.
