Suffolk County got a good soaking rain earlier this evening, now it looks like the severe storms in western NYS and western PA are now approaching the NYC area.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning currently for Sussex County, NJ, and it looks like some of us will get in on the rain overnight as a pretty healthy band swings on down from NE PA and Sullivan County, NY.

Just got a drenching t-shower. Although it didn't last long so maybe only about .2 worth but better than nothing.

So far tonight the storms are following the same path as they did earlier. That seems to be the theme this summer, those who get the rain keep getting the rain and those who miss it keep missing it. My area has for the most part been missing the rain, very dry here.

0.21" total qpf. Looks like it's over here unless some scattered cells in upstate NY and central PA make it late overnight.

Definitely has been the theme this summer. I have been on the dry side as well. Not a very favorable summer for the coast, but thinking about it, the city and coast has gotten nailed the last couple of summers while inland locales have missed out, so it looks like we are back to regular climatology.
