Mount Holly is already stating that thunderstorms which are currently developing west and northwest of Scranton PA are likely to affect its forecast zones as strong to severe storms late this pm. Also states that the air mass in our area is more unstable than over PA and, therefore, it's likely that this cluster will grow in intensity and coverage. On a different note, a severe cell has already developed near Danbury CT and is affecting Fairfield County. These cells developed explosively and quickly so storms could develop anywhere in our region, outside of the line and cluster in PA that Mount Holly is warning about.

Northeastern CT has flash flood warnings in effect for rainfalls of 3" to 4" per hour. Seems like intense storms are scattered east and west but nothing in NY Metro at the present time.

Here is something different, a severe thunderstorm watch is up until 10pm for Nassau and Suffolk counties in New York and only those two counties. There is and intense storm developing just to my NW. I am getting big rain drops and distant thunder.

Looks like Lake Success/ New Hyde Park vicinity in western Nassau County has over 3" qpf totals per radar. Intense 65 dbz cell is stalled over that area.

T-Storm literally developed overhead. Was looking at radar and saw nothing but heard thunder and finally starting raining huge drops with nickel sized hail mixed in. Brief downpour and it moved on out. Vivid lightning as well.
Yonkers, NY - The City Of Hills - Where nothing is on the level including our local government.

That's the other 65 dbz cell. Small but potent storm. Went right over Yonkers area and is now entering Long Island Sound.

This storm is gradually spreading over my area. They say it is moving SE at 5mph. If that is the case, I could be in for quite a rain event in the next hour or two.
Keeps redeveloping on the back end and is affecting the same area. Radar estimates that Lake Success area has 5"+ qpf!
