The Hurricane Center winds actually match up very well with reported winds if not even underdone.

There was a gust to 115 mph at landfall.

I heard a while ago that gov malloy may close the merrit parkway later on tonight for the entire storm...there have been many trees coming down on the parkway during thunderstorms this year, some have fell on top of cars....it makes me nervous that trees have been coming down during brief, gusty thunderstorms and we're gonna have many hours of these gusts...we're in for some serious tree damage and power outages.

Just had torrential rain for an hour or so, flooding already an issue. Took my car to my parents house since they are on higher ground, and drove through rivers. Sylvania Ave in Neptune City looks like a running river.

I just drove thru that area between the circle and 33 to pick up Popeye's and it's already flooding badly. Have seen numerous trop downpours already both here at home and on the road.
