A whopping 231 inches of snow fell there this past winter, as opposed 50 inches in '06.

That's not too much compared to Mt. Mansfield, Vermont -- received a whopping 408" of snow this winter -- yes, we're talking real snow, not sleet or freezing rain.
By the way, still 1-2ft of snow remaining at the summit of Mt. Mansfield as well as Mt. Washington. I've heard it was one of their best spring skiing seasons in over a decade. Pretty impressive reversal from the warm/snowless first half of the winter.

yeah it's pretty normal to have between 200 and 300" in the Co mtns. Thanks to the great spring I believe Killington was well over 200 this year too, which is about normal i would think. cool article though. thanks.

Stormchaser -- Summit is nothing on mt. washington. I heard there are still several feet in the ravines (tuckerman's ravine in the shadow of the summit of mt washington). So much wind @ the summit blows snow into the ravines. Heard a report of 50 feet of snow in the ravines during a real nasty winter years ago, and sometimes, in the ravines, you can have snow on the ground throughout the summer that would last until the next snowfall the following winter.
