Metfan I thought the precip would be light but it's been a lil too light over here I got about a half inch but no heavy bands. I hope we see one or 2 of those..I don't think it will change to plain rain to late late tonight if at all.

This is one thing that Henry M has been saying and I had a feeling he would be right about the whole time. The models are not detecting this Lower Level Cold Air. Were still at 23 the high for the day is suppose to hit 34 when the hell is that gonna happen, but this is suppose to be a big storm, so Storm, Icehater when will we see heavier precip in any form???

Wasn't Henry M. the guy everyone was making fun of last year for his predictions of apolyctic snow storms EVERY TIME even a sniff of snow was in the forecast. I think he tends to take the best case snenario for snow and just go with it to keep people interested in his take.

When the warmer air gets here. You'll end up pushing 40 today, if not higher but it'll be at night. As for Henry - he thought the storm would form off the delmarva. That's not happening. The cold air is probably not going to hold on as long as the models had it last night when they had -2 to -3C readings over NYC till early evening and it also seems the more important mid level layers of the atmosphere are warming faster than last night model progs .
The coastal will form near LI and hug the coast a bit as it rapidly deepens. In fact if it deepened super fast it would at first move due N and go west of Boston. But the more plausible situation is it hugs the coast and goes NE after passing Boston. This is a Bangor Maine jackpot with 12-18" in most places of central Maine and probably 18"+ in the Bangor area. Blizzard warnings will probably be required in that area later tonight when the wind strength becomes more of a certainty. The GFS has actually been saying this would be the outcome for days now. Our friend Henry has simply been in denial about it. What Henry needs is for about 15 mln people in the NYC area to permanently move to Bangor. Then his wishcasts will be right 80+% of the time.

Give me a break. He's so wrong on this storm it's a joke. He said 6" of snow in NYC and a storm forming much further south then where it's forming. If you think Henry is right then show me the deep NYC snow and the storm off the Delmarva.

28.4 with light snow again here. 1" of snow looks like it for my area. Good enough; at least what I expected.

28.6 here with occasional light flurries. About half an inch is all I got so far. It doesn't even completely cover the grass.

Still 25-26 degrees here, however the wind is starting to show a SE bias. Fortunately it is almost calm.

When the models switched to a lake cutter he kept insisting they were wrong all the way thru Thursday. He said 6" of snow and said model soundings supported it. He either read the soundings wrong or just looked at the start and end point soundings data and assumed it stayed cold in the middle. The GFS soundings he referred to showed 38-43 and rain for 80% of the QPF of the storm. Someone at AW must have showed him his error as he quickly came down to 1-2" on his next report. I never read Henry - I'm just going by all the Henry posts in this board. In fact I'm starting to wish Brett opens a Henry said section. IMO - Henry is to weather what the National Enquirer is to news.
