jfar57 can you do me a favor and let me know when the roads loo a little slick? I live in Denville but work in Manhattan and I'd like to get a head start home especially on rt. 280. Thanks.

Cyclone,
apparently mother nature is not reading all the posts on this board about growing snow totals. As of 12:30, it is sunny in Randolph and temp has risen by 3 degrees in the last hour

Cyclone, I work in Parsippany and there hasn't been a flake yet, in fact the sun has been out for the past couple of hours. Nothing doing here.

Thanks for the update. Gee I thought I'd be heading home by now. Looks like the overrunning layer is just evaporating (virga). I'll stay tuned in.

Well, I am certainly not the most qualified to answer that. I read this stuff and try to assimilate what the other guys say. Based upon what I have read last night and today we are mostly snow. Not a tremendous amount of mix. if that holds, sounds like we in the range of about a foot.

Here in Somerset, the clouds have thickened up, and the radar has filled back in almost. Just waiting for the skys to open up again.

I would say 12-15 inches is a pretty good bet. This storm once it cranks up will really draw in the colder air up north. Any mix will be brief I believe. I also think that this might be even bigger for NYC and could really catch them off guard with a slight wiggle in the track.
