From upton

"Track of coastal storm still somewhat in doubt...yesterday it was
the UKMET that brought precipitation to far southeast areas...overnight it was
the Canadian. Current pressure falls are suggesting a track
slightly closer to the coast...and deepening a little faster then
forecast by the models both yesterday and overnight. If the low
deepens faster than expected (especially if there is strong
convection associated with its deepening)...the development will
end up sharpening the downstream ridge...and as a result the low
would track closer to the coast than currently forecast. For
now...GFS/NAM/sref consensus seems generally on track. Did lower
probability of precipitation slightly across southeast areas...to reflect continued overall
continuity towards coastal lows main impact being middle to high
cloud cover over the region...with quite likely most...if not all
the precipitation with it being confined over the open ocean
waters. "

Thats a lot of moisture, just imagine if all of this was headed up the coast  >:(

A long period of snow would have been the result!  8)

This would have been 4 sure been the biggest snowfall 4 this winter.

@Metsfan- Could you please give it up? It is apparent the storm is not coming up the coast.

Oh yes I did just say that

Give the poor guy a break.  The only thing we have this year is hope.  Might as well enjoy that - there sure as heck no snow to enjoy...

Drill down and look at the heart of the precip in Richmond below and you'll see it's a lot more ENE. The storm is indeed coming further NW then progged but there's no neg tilt to make it come far enough NW.

Brief hvy squall possible but the storm may steal the moisture from the front.
