Not a warning, maybe a watch
Yeah, but you better hope it's not a flood watch or warning which seems likely

I'll really be surprised if Southern Westchester isn't upgraded from advisory criteria.

Very odd how it showed WSW with a red banner across the top via www.weather.com but for Queens but in the warning it says only a watch and for Suffolk Co it shows a warning. Is TWC sniffing glue again??

Guys, as of 4:31 Upton lowered accumulations for much of the area and did NOT upgrade to warning criteria. Now calling for 2-3".

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST WEDNESDAY.
LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA THIS EVENING... BECOMING STEADIER AND HEAVIER TONIGHT. AS WARMER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION AFTER MIDNIGHT...THE SNOW WILL LIKELY MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN... CHANGING TO ALL RAIN BY DAYBREAK. AS THE STORM MOVES TO THE NORTHEAST WEDNESDAY EVENING AND COLDER AIR FLOWS BACK INTO THE AREA...THE RAIN MAY MIX WITH OR EVEN CHANGE TO WET SNOW BEFORE ENDING WEDNESDAY NIGHT. TOTAL SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS BY THE TIME THE PRECIPITATION ENDS COULD RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES...WITH SOME LIGHT ICE ACCRETION POSSIBLE.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING

This isn't my opinion, it's Upton's actual forecast.
I'm not sure how the rumour of WSW's extending throughout Long Island got started.
