Down to 28.5 this morning and 28 the last 2 mornings. The storm that JB called for was just off shore. The cloud deck from that storm did come across eastern LOng Island and eastern New England. The cold air was in place also. A near miss.

It was 29 here at 7 AM. I really felt it this morning. Why do we always get this useless cold air in late March and April? I guess we're still in that between-seasons transition period. Come on, Spring!

Mother Nature messed with us all winter long. Why would she stop now when we are looking forward to milder temps?

Exactly. These screwed-up weather patterns are getting out of hand, lol.
Big games tonight, BTW. Rangers-Flyers and Devils-Penguins. Should be interesting.

We're breathing down your neck. If we get two points tonight and you lose (don't be surprised if Crosby plays), we could pass you when we play Thurs night. Amaing how tight the whole conference is. If all goes right the next few days, we could be in the 4th spot. If all goes wrong, we could be 8th.

Unfortunately though, it is a one-day warm-up. After tomorrow, it is back to the 40s for the foreseeable future.

The only bad spot would be the one that faces the Penguins in the first round. Crosby is awfully dangerous. I don't want the Rangers to see him until the last possible chance. Brodeur is the second person I would not want to face....but given a choice I like the chances against the Devils better based upon how things have gone this season.
It's going to be a crapshoot. The Devils and Rangers remaining games are against divisional opponents for the most part. The Devils, Rangers, Flyers and Penguins may end up beating each other up and trading points back and forth. I think both teams (Rangers and Devils) are safely in the playoffs; it's just a matter of seeding now.

Yes, the race for the division is going to be huge. The Rangers and Devils both have a game in hand on Pitt, but the Pens look really strong. As a Ranger fan, no one team scares me much more than the other, I would just like to have home ice. Right now, a 6 spot would be nice, playing Carolina. I know the last time the canes made the playoffs, they won it all, but this is not the same Carolina team. Its good to have all division play the last few weeks and April 6th in Newark should be fun.
Go Yankees, Jets, and NY Rangers!

My high today was 46.3 around 2pm before the SE wind kicked in, with gusts to 25mph.
Low last night - another hard freeze at 26.8. Two nights ago was 24.1 degrees. And I'm loving it.

Spring wouldn't be bad on Long Island if we could get rid of the wind. Even highs in the 40s with a strong March sun feels pretty good until that south wind starts up.
