Good news- The last two times our season started under delays were '96 and '03. Of course they were snow related,
but we made it to the world series those 2 years. Maybe its good luck. It looks like the showers will be moving east of the bronx soon though. Looking at the radar, there isn't much precip left SW of the city.

Due to the Rain, the game has been canceled, and postponed. I think they should have added a retractable roof to the new Yankees stadium. So, what if they need that mostly down south, it rains here too.

Rain postpones Yanks' Opening Day
Matchup with Jays rescheduled for Tuesday night at 7:05 ET
By Bryan Hoch / MLB.com
NEW YORK -- Ongoing showers and a bleak weather forecast prompted the postponement of Monday's Opening Day game at Yankee Stadium, the 84th and final season at the current facility.
The game between the Yankees and Blue Jays will be played instead on Tuesday, with a scheduled start time of 7:05 p.m. ET. The starting pitchers, Chien-Ming Wang of the Yankees and Roy Halladay of the Blue Jays, are still scheduled to pitch in their respective clubs' first games of the season.
Fans holding tickets for Monday's game may use them for Tuesday's rescheduled game or exchange them for tickets to any other game, subject to availability.
A full house was expected in the Bronx for the scheduled tilt, and first pitch had been set for 1:05 p.m., but the tarpaulin never left the playing field.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi and general manager Brian Cashman inspected the outfield at 2 p.m., and an official decision was delivered at 2:25 p.m. The Yankees said that the forecast no longer looked promising after speaking with weather authorities.
The Yankees and Blue Jays are scheduled to play a three-game series in New York on opening week, meeting again on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and on Thursday, also at 7:05 p.m.

That's lame. Baseball season start too damn early. Actually they'll probably try it tomorrow right? Of course we know the rain will be much heavier tomorrow. Good call whoever made it.

Postponed. I'm guessing Wang woke up with a little arm stiffness this morning. They've refused to postpone games in snowstorms and now they postpone this one with a light mist coming down.

The yankees dont make the decision, the umpires and MLB decide.
