Where's Jeremy Shockey? Still a member of the New York Giants.

New Orleans's apparent deal for tight end Jeremy Shockey has hit a delay because of the Giants' demand for more than a No. 2 draft pick for the former Pro Bowler, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

The Saints have been debating offering a No. 2 pick, according to sources, but some in the organization would prefer including no more than a No. 3 pick. New Orleans officials' reluctance makes the deal, which could get done on the draft-day clock or Saturday morning before the draft, difficult to pull off.

The Giants have already conducted a physical on Shockey, which could be offered to the Saints if he can't make it to New Orleans in time to have one. Sources indicate the Saints are seriously interested in Shockey, so a deal is likely to get done.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis this week has declined to discuss players under contract with any other team, and has been evasive while meeting with reporters at the Saints' training headquarters. He has apologetically said that he did not want to tip off other teams to the Saints' draft plans.

The 28-year-old Shockey, who earned the first NFL championship of his career in January, broke his leg on Dec. 16 in a game against the Washington Redskins and did not play in the Super Bowl.

He finished the 2007 regular season with 57 receptions and three touchdowns.

Information from ESPN.com's John Clayton and The Associated Press was used in this report.

Congrats to my 'ol high school buddy RAY RICE who was selected in the 2nd round by Baltimore. I was involved in the schools sports station and I got to meet and interview him many times. He has been through a lot, growing up in a rough part of town. His dad was killed in a drive by shooting as a young kid. We all new he had NFL type talent, you just couldn't tackle this guy! He almost led us to 2 straight state titles. Courtney Green and Glen Lee also went to Rutgers on that team. Geoff McDermott was our QB, who is now a big time basketball player at Providence. Best of luck to Ray in his NFL carear.

I think the Giants will be around .500, they just got lucky last year. Their schedule is much tougher. As a Jet fan, I hope the Cowboys win the NFC east and the Giants and Eagles can miss the playoffs.

Yeah ok, let's see where the Jets go with a QB with no arm strength and the other QB with alot of turnovers.

jets wont really go nowere this year! they didnt do THAT good in the draft. the giants picked up another safety and we also got sammy knight now as well. and if our D is great again this year those teams that look TOUGH will not look so tough when there QB is on the ground just like brady was if you look at the bottom of my post. :lmao:

I'm sick and tired of that thing in your sig, lol as much as I hate Tom Brady though. It's not just the draft, but the Jets improved their team with additions such as Fanica, Pace, and Bubba Franks in the offseason. Another good thing is that the Jets cut the awful Justin McCareins. Erik Ainge is a good 4th round QB to pick up, considering he played decently at Tennessee and fits into the Jets offense. Tannebaum has high hopes for this year, and I do to. We have an easy schedule, and some talent, so lets see how this goes.
