Over the last 25 years, the Mets have NEVER, NEVER, EVER hit a pitcher like Glavine, Moyer, etc.

I can list one soft-tossing lefty after another that the Mets have always looked futile against (anyone remember Zane Smith and Randy Tomlin from the Pirates?)

Game notes-

Atlanta is DEADLY at home, 17-5.

Glavine just dominated the Mets after the first.

Heilman will not last much longer if he keeps giving up HRs like this. Is it me or are there ALWAYS guys on base when Heilman gives up an HR?

The Yankees may get rained out AGAIN tonight.

There is a severe thuderstorm warning in effect for the Atlanta area. I'd say there is a 50-50 chance of the Yankees playing as well. This weather sucks.

I don't think you realized how heavily it rained in NYC last Friday, the field was soaked! The tarp only covers the infield, the outfield and foul lines are wide open. Everybody knew that game would be washed away by about noon on Friday. Today, looking at the field, I would say there is an 80% chance of a game in the Bronx.
