NYBrit, I think most areas see white-out conditions on the back-end and a solid 4" to 8" of snow tomorrow all the way down to the coast. On top of a lot of ice, that's a big storm for us this winter.

The trouble is I don't see my company closing tomorrow and I took 2 days sick already in Jan so I will have to go in.  Am not looking forward to the commute!  :o

brit - best advice would be to get there before the changover and wait it out if you can't leave before it starts snowing.  if your temp winds up around 30 by morning the city roads shouldn't be too bad.  coming home could be a very different story.

If they see it getting really bad they may let us go early.  They have done it before apparently.  They have to bear in mind too that a few ppl come from new jersey and that'll be quite a commute in those conditions.
As you said Sat it probably won't be too bad in the morning hence they definitely won't close.  Do you really think temp will get to 30?

Brit, companies will be MORE likely to close with threat of ICE than snow. This might work in your favor actually.

Well I hope I get a call before I leave!  I'll be a bit miffed if I do the commute for nothing.

that always gets me.  they wait until it gets bad then they send everyone out in it!  unreal.  at that point i'd just wait it out.

such a tough call.  temps along the coast are rising with the east wind.  they are supposed to rise overnight.  so to me it seems like right on the coast you could be in the low to mid 30s.  for your sake i hope so.  just check when you get up.  i'm sure once you get a few miles away from the coast it will be a huge ice storm, but that's not for you to worry about.

I have a small weather station set up now.  It's not much just tells me the temp outside but It'll be the first thing I look at tomorrow.  Second thing will be here! LOL
Thanks for the advice Sat.

I just got home a little while ago and the roads are treacherous. It will get worse though, some towns did a better job than others in treating the roads. My cars is rear wheel drive, but with snow tires, I had no problems.
