People who are getting sleet now will get snow tommorrow afternoon. Don't be so depressed. Plus, the track can always vary. I remember a couple of storms where the forecasters said, it tracked more east or west the next day than we thought. And those have been recent storms over the past 3 years. The forecast is for the sleet to change back to snow for at least 2-4 hours before leaving. I believe this is correct.

Abc and CBS both said that about the backlash snow tomorrow.  Sounds like it's going to be quite a day!

Brit, I really think there could be some major changes overnight in regards to precip. Just an overall feeling I get because the METS have been changing forecasts so much over the past two days. I think they are semi-confounded by this one.

Just like last year!  They kept upping the accumulations then as the storm stalled and kept dumping on us.  I hope that happens again!  But I don't think it will as there is no high pressure to the north to hold it in place?

That's a question for Robbs, storm or ice. I have no clue about the upper air dynamics, etc, lol.

I'm no expert. But, if the high was strong enough with this track, the sleet/ice would stay just to the coast. this high isnt feeding the cold air aloft.

My thinking is that 30 -50 miles change in the track is going to be huge either way.  Right now I think the mets are still going with model runs since the low has not really developed yet.  In the morning when the actual low has developed and has started to developed a track the real predictions can begin.  However, we have a trend and that calls for some snow amounts as well as ice and freezing rain.  The track is going to determine how much of the types of frozen precip amounts actually happen tomorrow.  We do know that this is going to be a major storm with some wild weather in the metro area.  Right now in sleepy hollow I have had freezing rain for about an hour and a half.  I am concerned more about the icing than the snow.  Either way it is going to be a mess tomorrow all across the region.  Thoughts?
