Take a look at the pressure falls:

If you click on Theta-e/streamline flows -- notice the baroclinic zone is NOT right up the coast.
This may be very interesting with a change to hvy snow and wind tomorrow for the coast. I'm also confident no plain rain falls from central NJ northward.
