Here's a guy that brutally murdered someone in 1994. He was set-up to get the death penalty and that proceeding was set to start last December. But Corzine threw out the death penalty just before that phase of the trial was to start and replaced it with life imprisonment with no eligibility for parole. However it is now ruled that anyone who cmmitted murder prior to Corzine's policy change can now not even be given life imprisonment without parole if that punishment didn't exist at the time of the murder. So this guy now has a maximum penalty of 30 years in jail. It was Corzine's intention to get rid of the death penalty and replace it with life without parole not to give these guys a get out of jail card. If that were not possible legally then he should have only got rid of the death penalty on a forward basis. His intent was an automatic adjustment from death to life without parole. But the legal system doesn't allow that, which is something Corzine and his staff should have known before they rushed through a policy change like this. So now we have another loophole for the bad guys and another blatantly stupid legal blunder by our system and by the people running it. Stupid, stupid stupid.

Nothing like acting first, then finding ou the law. I wonder if they can repeal the no death sentence so these AZZZ holes can die first
