Storm, Ice, Robbbs or anyone else who cares to share their opinion with me for that matter

I am thinking about getting lawn seats to the James Taylor show this Friday at the PNC Art Center. Since there is no covering to the lawn section, if it looks like rain (steady rain) I'd rather not go.

The posted forecasts from the various weather sources and news are calling for a chance of T-Showers.

If you were me, given your weather knowledge & what the forecasts are looking like today, would you purchase these tickets?

Thanks!

Wntrstrmwrng,

I think you're good to go. No widespread steady rains and/or severe weather chances for the latter part of this week. In fact, the next several days will be very May-like, with afternoon highs generally 74-78 degrees and nights in the 50-55 range.

With that in mind -- we have chilly temperatures in the mid/upper levels of the atmosphere (+5c to +7c at 850mb), similar to what you'd see in early May, coupled with an intense mid June sun -- the overturning process initiates as strong surface heated air rises, cools, then condenses into clouds. Thus we're likely going to see a chance for scattered mid/late afternoon T-storms almost every day this week -- Wednesday through Friday. However, the dry airmass means they will NOT be long-lived or significant rain producers. We're talking your typical garden-variety 15-20 minutes burst of rain -- not a big deal (you may see nothing -- very hit and miss).

So yes, if I were you I'd definitely purchase the tickets. If you end up getting the tickets have a great time. :)
