Hate to jinx it, but yanks up 5-0 after 6. Looking good for sweep of the twinkies. Nice way to head into the Boston Series where they open with Joba vs Beckett. That should be a great game. While the Yanks and Bosox beat each other up, Tampa can get fat on KC.

Now if they can take 2 of 3 from Boston....that would be sweet. (and not let down against balt after that)

Baltimore has been a thorn in the Yankees side the past few years. If I am not mistaken, the Yanks should have Chamberlain, Pettitte and Ponson going against the Red Sox. All three have been throwing the ball well and getting the big pitch when they need it. We need the offense to keep scoring runs and 2 of 3 is certainly possible...dare I say maybe even a sweep?

I hope the Yankees do what they did to the Red Sox here at Yankee Stadium, while at Fenway Park. We need to sweep Boston. If they lose all three games, that will have the Yankees either tie Tampa or take the lead from them, as long as Tampa Bay loses a few games. Yankees need to keep this winning streak up, while not hitting the bottomless pit a week from today. They are currently building a ridge of wins, and don't need to have a cold front come in and cool them off, causing them to go into a trough-like dip.

I would be happier to see the Yankees take Boston's spot.

Speaking of heat up....can you believe that the forecast temp for the Yank game today is 106. They should not be allowed to play in that kind of heat.

Well, this all played out like we had feared. Fortunately, I think that the Yankee win yesterday will re-energize them back to the form that they had right after the All Star break. The next few weeks will be interesting as the AL East winds their way through the Central and West. Both Boston and Tampa have been very bad on the road so far this year, while the Yanks have been strong. It will be interesting to see how things unfold. The Wild Card race should be well defined by the third week in August and the AL East Division race will really heat up.

I think what they should worry about is that Tropical Storm, that might become hurricane tonight or tomorrow. Is that Rangers' field an outside park or does it have a dome?
