Still shows decent amount of precip after the 850 line is down to the coast. Supports heavy back end snows later. Good news but should we trust it?

I was thinking the same thing. The models look like they are busting big time on QPF. But they nailed that 850MB line - that's for sure.

My anemometer is no longer active as it's frozen solid. Temp is now 26.1 degrees.

I'm going to post some pics as it's amazing out there. An ice wonderland. Trees bending over like crazy, encased in a layer of ice. According to VP2 I've had .40" of QPF thus far.

I cant wait to see the pics stormchaser....I am only a few miles away from you and there isnt much of a coating on the trees as it has been mostly sleet and not much liquid....

My optimism is growing. The 12Z NAM was a good run for backlash snows and radar has shown a marked improvement. Also looks like a change-over to snow is wrapping around in the southwest on radar. We may still get those white-outs later. Plenty of precip to go IF the NAM is correct.

I'm with you--nothing sticking on the trees--mostly sleet.

That's what I've been hearing. Driving conditions not as dangerous up towards Middletown as the precip is sleet. It's like driving on an ice skating rink in my area.

Robbbs, you are the king of hope and optimism. I'm glad you're posting on this board. Even a few inches in the boros would be great. We all need to chant: NAM...NAM...NAM...NAM

Wow guys! Heavy sleet here now! Looks like a monsoon of ice here! Everything is white and temps are way low..25.4 and not moving @ all.
Street completely ice covered. No rain here that's for sure.

NAM-WRF blows the GFS and other models out of the water yet again. GFS had progged 40 degree sfc temps up to central NJ by this time! Not. It's mid 20's and an ice storm. NAM had this icing pegged from a few days out. Now let's see if it nails the backlash.
