[Hurricaneff]

Hurricane Gloria makes landfall on Long Island,the last direct hit from a hurricane here.


Remember it well.I was 15 years old .Sat at my bedroom window(not a smart thing to do) watching the trees sway in the window,every once in a while I would hear the crackling noise of trees falling or branches breaking off.I would say 90 percent of the trees on my block were knocked down by the wind.Walked around town with friends after the storm,alot off trees down and a few on top of houses.We were without power for 4-5 days(got lucky most were out for more then a week).

This was my second hurricane,Belle was my first but don't remember to much from her.
