Not only for this area to have such a prolonged sleet storm/accumulation; and at 22 F.
Now get this, I'm 3 degrees colder than the Poconos in the middle of a winter storm. Very odd.

I'm in Marshalls Creek PA just east of Mt Pocono
and my temp is 17 degrees!! I think the posted temp for Mt Pocono is a mistake!!!

Freezing rain & wind, I was driving to the food store a little wile ago and a power line fell down in front of me. It is very dangerous outside, lots of ice and powerful winds.

There looks to be a big dry slot over most of nj and i was wondering if the slot would fill in for central nj???

Jim - idk, but look at the radar. Notice the mix indication pushed into the western/central poc's? Relatively warm air pushed there by the old trough? You are 20 to 25 miles from the Mt Pocono AP aren't you?

My precip is changing to fine thread-like frozen precip.
They are as thin as coarse hair and maybe 1/10 inch long. Some are free and some in bundles like little haystacks.
Is there a technical name for this? Or are they crystals of frozen drizzle?
